The Flat Apple Summer Program is designed to encourage kids to keep their bodies moving when they are on summer break from school.
The summer activity is called Flat Apple because the Healthy Lombard logo is a one-dimensional apple.
Children ages preschool through high school are eligible to participate.
DIRECTIONS (as easy as 1,2,3)
STARTING JUNE 1, 2020:
Find the Quick Click links at the top of our website at www.healthylombard.com and then click on the one for Flat Apple 2020. Once registered you will receive a confirmation email.
Participate in any or all of the Flat Apple Activity. There are 3 ways to have fun:
Registered participants can log their physical activity for the summer and complete the activity tracker. The activity tracker can be found on the Healthy Lombard website at https://healthylombard.com/activity-tracker-2020/Every 300 minutes counts for one raffle ticket. Participants are encouraged to log as many hours as they wish, but please note the max number of tickets earned for completing the activity tracker is ten (3,000minutes). Tracker sheets should be returned to Sunset Knoll Recreation Center at 820 S. Finley Road in Lombard (Attention: Flat Apple 2020, Joe McCann). Sheets are DUE BY AUGUST
Registered participants may also earn one ticket for each sponsored event they attend throughout the summer. There are typically a few Healthy Lombard Member Events offered during the summer months. More event details may be found as they are made available at www.healthylombard.com. To earn a ticket, simply include the event on the Activity Track.
Registered participants may also earn tickets by posting a “Healthy Selfie” on THEIR Facebook with #HealthySelfie. Or sending it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Participants may earn a total of 10 tickets by submitting “Healthy Selfies.”
THE FINE PRINT:
The participant (preschool (age 4) – high school age (age 16) MUST BE registered by a parent or guardian to win.
Although Flat Apple activities are open to children from preschool to high school, some events are age-specific so please check event information on the Flat Apple 2019 Page of the Healthy Lombard website.
Individuals participate in activities at their own risk.
Students may participate in more than 1 activity per day but cannot repeat an activity (i.e. student could do 1 selfie photo, 1 video, and 1 site activity each day but cannot do 2 or more of the same type of activity each day.)
Registering grants permission for a photo of participation (not name) to be posted on the Healthy Lombard Internet sites.
*Participation ticket drawing will be held at the September Healthy Lombard Partner Board Meeting. Winners will be notified by email or phone and their FIRST names will be posted on the Flat Apple 2020 page of the Healthy Lombard website. If the ticket belongs to a child that is not registered, he/she cannot win and the prize will go to a child that is registered.
Winners and their families will be invited to a prize reception in late September.
