Online Calculator: Noise Pollution Maximal Exposure Time for Human Ear Safety

Paul Farrell, Associate Director, Audiology Professional Practices at The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), shared that “Noise-induced hearing loss is completely preventable, but once it occurs, it is irreversible and permanent. That is why it is so important to take proactive steps to protect yourself.”  To that end, Daniel G. Pearson, from Soundproof Expert, has created a handy resource that includes an online noise pollution calculator. You can enter noise levels and it will display the maximum safe time you can be exposed to without damaging your ears.
This can be a useful tool since according to the CDC, around 26 million people have suffered permanent damage to their hearing from excessive exposure to noise.
