Lombard’s Jewel Osco will be providing free blood glucose screening at the Village of Lombard Senior Fair, taking place Wednesday, Oct. 2, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This year’s event will take place at a new location, the Park District’s Madison Meadow Athletic Center, at 500 E Wilson Ave, Lombard, IL 60148.
Vendors at the event focus on providing services or genuinely helpful information to Lombard’s Senior Citizens.
You can find representative there from organizations, community groups, and businesses that provide services to Lombard seniors.
In addition, the Senior Man and Senior Women of the Year Awards will be presented at the Village’s Senior Fair. The awards will be presented at 10 a.m. All nominees will be recognized and the winning seniors will ride in the 2020 Lilac Time Parade.
Nominees must have an incorporated Lombard home mailing address and be 65 years of age or older. Nominations must include a brief statement, 50 words or less, on why the nominee should be considered, as well as a short biography of the nominee.
“This is a great opportunity to help give back to senior citizens that have given so much to our community,” said Trustee Dan Militello, Chair of the Community Relations Committee, which helps to organize the event. “We hope that residents will nominate a neighbor, friend, or family member that has contributed to our Village.”
All nominations must be received by 4:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6 for consideration. The Community Relations Committee will vote for the winner on Monday, Sept 9. Nominees and winners will be notified.
